2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the last year of World War One. Following our highly successful tours to Gallipoli and Beersheba, Zeppelin Travel is offering a guided tour of the Western Front battlefields in France and Belgium, with particular emphasis on the part played by the Australia Imperial Force.
A new fully escorted 15 day tour to the Western Front, leaving Brisbane on 19th August 2018.
Led by historians Peter Headley and Robert Likeman, the tour will visit principally visit sites of interest to Australians. The group will be based in Amiens for six nights and in Ieper (Ypres) for four nights. There will be two nights accommodation in Paris at the beginning of the tour, and one at Ermenonville (close to Charles de Gaulle Airport) at the conclusion of the tour.

The dates are expected to be from 22nd October to 6th November. There will also be an opportunity to visit the principal holy sites in Israel, and Petra and Aqaba in Jordan. The Brisbane History Group is holding a seminar entitled 'Brisbane and World War 1' in the GT125 Theatre at St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill on Saturday 3 October.
